My favorite three daily exercises to stay in shape!

Keeping your body and mind in tip-top shape is essential for growing your surfing. My favorite three daily exercises to stay in shape are:

  • Breathwork

  • Sun salutations

  • Plank pose

Breathwork is a fundamental part of being a surfer. Learning to control your breathing helps you stay calm and focused in challenging or stressful situations.

Proper breathing techniques can help improve endurance, stamina, and even recovery.

There are a variety of different breathing techniques. A few that I like are Diaphragmatic breathing, Pranayama, and the Wim Hof method. I recommend doing some personal research and trying out different practices to find the one that best suits you.

Sun salutations, or Surya namaskar, are a series of flowing yoga poses that incorporate the breath. They have many benefits, including improving flexibility and strength, reducing stress and anxiety, and increasing blood flow and energy levels.

Sun salutations improve your overall physical fitness, and they are a great way to warm up before your surf session.

Plank position engages and strengthens the muscles of the core. By holding the plank for a sustained period of time, you can improve your core strength and stability, which is key for overall fitness, surfing, and strutting your stuff in your Ola Chica bikini. A strong core improves posture, balance, and coordination and reduces the risk of back injury. It is a very effective exercise for burning calories and increasing muscular endurance. Plank is a valuable part of a well-rounded daily routine.

These three exercises should all be done mindfully with breath and focus. They are a valuable addition to a surfer's training and wellness routine.
